Friday Rewards:
- Star System:
- Each class period starts with 3 stars on the board. For a total of 15 for the week.
- After a prompt, the teacher will start to erase a star for each time the same prompt was repeated. * (see below) The Teacher will add back a star each time a student is caught following the rules and making a good choice.
- At the end of the class, count the remaining stars and mark them down and tally the earned stars for the week.
- If the class has saved at least 11 out of 15 stars, they earn a reward for Friday I and E.

Bonus Point / Earn Back Points System for SEL/Behavior Skills:
- Skill Focus:
- Choose one SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) or behavior skill that you want your students to focus on for the week.
- Modeling the Skill:
- At the beginning of the week, demonstrate the chosen skill to the class.
- Earning Points:
- Throughout the week, observe and catch students using the targeted skill in class.
- Each time you notice a student effectively demonstrating the skill, award them a bonus point.
- Reward Threshold:
- Since bonus points are awarded, you can increase the number of stars required to earn the Friday reward.
- Make sure to actively observe and recognize students applying the skill in order to award points.
Reminder: Consistent and active observation is key to this system’s success.
*Especially the first couple of weeks you can focus on one SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) or behavior skill for your prompt, Quiet voices, listening, starting work….., then make it harder, by including 2 or more skills.
Feel free to adjust the specifics based on your needs!
